A Site Promotion Meeting Held for the MR125 Project in Namibia

At 17:00 on May 17, a site promotion meeting was held for the MR125 Project at the main camp in Katima, Namibia.

At the Meeting, Chen Gong, Project Manager, and Liu Heping, Manager of Road & Bridge Company reported the operations of the Project Department and construction progress of the project. Since March 16, 2012 when the project was officially commenced, the management structure of the Project Department has been basically established currently, two camps have been built and 158 persons in total have been employed, including 53 employees from MCC. Due to land compensation and lack of resources, there were some difficulties in the early stage of construction of the project, resulting in slight delay in the progress. However, with the cooperative efforts of the Project Department to tackle and overcome the difficulties, the throughout site cleaning along the line and 22% of stripping of borrow pit have been completed, and the main work of the project has started to be constructed. Thanks to the communications, combinations and preparation for the previous period, the project is ready to make remarkable progresses.
