The China Metallurgical Construction Association issued the Notification on Announcing the Project Quality Achievements of the Metallurgical Industry in 2019 on December 18. Panzhihua Steel City Building, a project undertaken by MCC19, won the 2019 Project Quality Achievement Award of the Metallurgical Industry.
This evaluation of the project quality achievements of the metallurgical industry, performed centrally once a year, is organized by the China Metallurgical Construction Association. Projects that stand out in this evaluation represent the best quality in metallurgical construction. Winning this honor shows the comprehensive competitiveness of MCC19 and boosts the Company’s brand influence.
Panzhihua Steel City Building is a Class I public high-rise. Its 34-storey main building, a frame-core tube structure, is 146.55m tall with a floor area of 71,421m2; while its 21-storey wing building, a frame-shear wall structure, is 75.7m tall with a floor area of 44,852m2. During the construction period, the Project Office, conscientiously following the guidelines and relevant rules on energy conservation, emissions cut, consumption reduction and green construction for national construction projects, fully put in practice “energy saving, land saving, water saving, material saving and environmental protection” by establishing green construction objective management systems, upholding the concept of eco-friendly construction, and promoting new construction technologies. This practice not only boosted project quality and construction efficiency, but also saved resources to the greatest extent. According to statistics, this project recorded a cost saving of approximately RMB2 million due to green construction, generating good social and economic benefits. In the process, this project got five invention patents authorized and seven utility model patents authorized. Also, the project won several honorary titles including “Sichuan Quality Structure Project” and “MCC Model Projects in the Application of New Construction Technology”.
