Since 1966, when its mysterious predecessor codenamed “Mailbox No.2” was born in the Panzhihua–Xichang Rift area, the name of MCC19 has been etched deep in the urban memory of Panzhihua, the miniature-ivory-carved City of Iron and Steel, against the great backdrop of Third-Front Movement.

For half a century, MCC19, born to construct Panzhihua Iron & Steel, has grown and forged ahead with the dream of making China an iron and steel power. On this dream-catching journey, MCC19 has been making history and sustaining its great tradition. Over five decades of sea changes, MCC19 has always been a good keeper of the construction sector by upholding a simple yet solid spirit and character and maintaining its fighting stance as a pioneer. It has marched beyond mountains, beyond metallurgy and beyond national borders, writing a brilliant trilogy of SOE reform and development. In this good fight over half a century, MCC19 has earned the reputation of “Western Pioneers” with its unremitting pursuit for passing down its revolutionary DNA and promoting craftsmanship. MCC19 has evolved into a national high-tech enterprise with three special-grade and eight class-A qualifications and a large-scale construction conglomerate who independently undertakes whole-process metallurgical construction projects.

At present, led by its EPC activities and in pursuit of contributing to an industrialized, green and intelligent construction sector, MCC19 is committed to developing six business systems, i.e., metallurgy, transportation, municipal works, house building, environmental protection, underground space and track engineering, with a view to shaping full-range engineering product and service and value chains. Now, MCC19 is pressing ahead in strides on the journey to “be a national team in metallurgical construction, a main force in capital construction, and a frontrunner in emerging industries, and in the long run stick to the path of high-tech, high-quality development”, with the spirit of contract and promotion of architectural art in mind.

Going forward, MCC19 will, acting on its ideas of open innovation, complementary advantages, going hand in hand and win-win cooperation, look forward to wider and further cooperation with interested parties, writing new chapters of national rejuvenation and joining the epic journey of pursuing the Chinese dream.
